Welcome to the poetic professions of MGH, The Mahogany Poet. Why poetry, you may ask?

Why not? Poetry is such a simplistic, yet complex language used by so many, yet too few.

​

It has the ability to calm the mind yet stir the soul.

​

There are so many of us out there. We date back to the “Biblical” days. Ah, the Bible. The “Good Book”. The “Good News”. The foundation of my personal poetic journey. As I have passed through this life, I have had many revelations that date back to my genesis. I am realizing that nothing was coincidental or inconsequential. I am learning of my gifts and talents, and finally, I am ready to share them with you – all who are willing to come along with me.

Over five decades I have made a lot of mistakes (I still do). I have learned a lot of lessons and I have met some incredible people. In all of these years, I have been protected, chastised, favored, and lifted. These poems – this platform- tells my story, but I bet it tells yours, too. Or, it is my hope that you see a little of you or you see a LOT of humanity through the prism of the POWER of POETRY.
